Introduction

It is often daunting and time-consuming for artists working with figure drawings and human sketches to find exact dynamic pose references that match their character vision and scene inspiration. For instance, if an artist wants to draw a fight scene between two gangs, they need to find exact pose references that portray how they envision the punches, how each character delivers their attack, different body proportions, and how shadows and light work within the scene.

Even if they can somehow collect exact sketching references, having a limited set of character pose references will stifle scene creativity and experimentation.

Thanks to digital advancement and the rise of 3D illustrations, popular pose reference tools like PoseMyArt and its alternatives have become a must-have in every artist’s arsenal. Such illustrator tools for figure drawing inspiration allow artists to modify their models into any desired pose, adjust body proportion, light, and shadows, and explore hundreds of character poses for inspiration.

In today’s app review of PoseMyArt, we explore why this free pose reference tool is giving its competitors a run for their money despite the cut-throat competition.

PoseMyArt: Best pose reference tool for artists with no time and money!

Time is money. While the adage stands true in every industry, time is an exceptionally scarce commodity for artists working with figure drawing, comic illustrations, fashion design, and animations. In the age of animated films, fast fashion, and the anime craze, artists must draw dynamic character poses and illustrations fast and efficiently.

As a result, more and more artists now use popular pose reference tools to save time and energy instead of sketching model figures from scratch. And although the internet is flooded with hundreds of online tools for artists and illustrators, it can be challenging to find reliable 3D model posing tools that are pocket-friendly and offer top-quality pose references.

PoseMyArt ranks high on the list because it offers artists extensive control over every little detail of their characters and scene composition, among existing popular pose reference tools. Artists can choose or seek inspiration from 2400+ character poses and animations.

They can control the direction and intensity of light in the composition, select character gender, tinker with shadows, add basic shapes to create props, save and load files from your PC, and plenty more, all for free. So if you are someone that works with figure drawings, sketches, comics, anime, and animation, PoseMyArt is a must-have in your creative arsenal.
