High Tech Companies & Apps showing their solidarity with Ukraine

Introduction

The situation going on in Ukraine is not extremely appreciable. There are people dying on the streets and starving in their own motherland. In such a scenario, it’s needed that the entire world comes together to help the Ukrainians. There are different sorts of movements going on all around the world to help the Ukrainian people regain their security and freedom. One such example is of all the applications and the web Apps which are turning either their logo into the color of the Ukrainian flag or posting about Ukrainian freedom to demonstrate their solidarity with Ukraine.

Grammarly shows that it stands with Ukraine and has replaced the colors of its logo with blue and yellow, which are also in the Ukrainian flag. 

This action has provoked many other applications to also turn their logo into the color of the Ukrainian flag or post about it so that they can also spread the word. Furthermore, Grammarly also announced that it will donate five million dollars to the organizations that fund which are supporting the people of Ukraine.

2. Uber

Another great application, which is supporting Ukraine in such crucial times is Uber. Uber has not only provided its free services for the Ukrainian community but its support is also for the Uber community in Ukraine and the neighborhood areas. For the Ukrainian communities, the Uber application has provided humanitarian aid, free rides at the border, and food and essential supplies. As for the Uber community, Uber is ensuring that it’s keeping its drivers and riders safe, it is providing extra support for the drivers and the employees ensuring that they and their families are living under good conditions. 

A donation of around five million, in addition to the one million which was provided earlier, is being provided to the people from Uber. There’s no limit to the free trips which are provided between Ukraine and Polish cities to the refugees so that they can go to Poland safely. Food and essentials are also provided in vast amounts to the refugees. Uber has shown its entire solidarity with Ukraine which is something that the entire world should look up to.

3. Ling App

While we are on the topic of the applications showing their solidarity with Ukraine, a very important name would be Ling App. Ling App has come up with a great idea of providing free Ukrainian language courses for all and free languages for all the Ukrainian people which can ease the communication between people across the borders at this time, what Ukraine would want the most would be understood. 

Ling app has ensured that it provides free services so that there can be a connection between Ukrainian people as well as the people around the world. Another widely used application is Facebook (meta) which is used by many people all around the world to stay in connection with each other. Since Russia is attacking Ukraine and this is an atrocious act because civilians are dying.

Meta has decided that it will not allow any monetized advertisements from Russia on its applications. There are a few reasons for that. The first one is that the Russian state should not benefit from the Facebook application and the second one is to avoid any kind of manipulation on behalf of Russia.

5. Twitter

To show some solidarity with the Ukrainian people, Twitter has ensured that no propaganda from any state would be allowed on its platform.  It has paused any kind of monetized ad in either country to ensure that the situation does not get Chaotic Because of random propaganda. This decision is not permanent yet and has been taken on a temporary basis for emergency purposes only.

Twitter is meticulously observing all of the tweets, making sure that no such incident happens because of its platform. Furthermore, the Twitter App is ensuring that it is mindful of all the restrictions that are put on Russia so that it does not allow those actions to happen on its platform while showing solidarity with Ukraine.

6. Google

Last but not least, the application which is used by absolutely everyone and probably you are still using that application to read this blog post: Google. Google has also shown its solidarity with Ukraine in the best ways possible. The first useful action taken by Google is to contain Russia’s digital influence. Russia can no longer operate through its monetized or non-monetized ads on Google ads or Gmail platforms.

Furthermore, there are also sanctions on all of the YouTube channels which are being operated and thus benefiting the Russian state on YouTube. These are some of the great actions which Google and YouTube are taking together to ensure that the Ukrainians are not left alone.

All the apps showing solidarity with Ukraine are letting the Ukrainian people know that they’re not alone in their war. They do not feel like the silent warriors, instead, their voices are being heard, and also appreciated. It is important to speak up against any torture or atrocious behavior. This is why there is a dire need to speak up against Russia’s actions and stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
