How to Use the Free Help Website?

Thoushands is a great DIY project support application that makes it easier for people to help each other.

Before you get started using Thoushands, it is important to know the main objects on the UI:

  1. Friend: Users can use this feature to invite people they know to join the platform and connect as friends.
  2. Task. Task is a smaller version of a project. Users can create tasks and ask friends to help. It is important to note that only your friends on the platform can be task members.
  3. Project. Project is a large task that requires assistance from the community (outside your circle of friends). Thoushands will select potential candidates for a project and send invitations.

Here is how to get started:

How to use thoushands
  • To use the mobile application, users can register directly from the website or through the mobile application available on Google and Apple Playstore.
  • Create an account using your email and create a secure password, or simply log in with Apple/Facebook/Google credentials.
  • When you log in for the first time, you will be asked to verify your mobile phone number (only the US phone number is approved at the moment). Also, you will be asked to provide some personal information such as your name, and city of location.
  • After logging in, from your dashboard you can invite friends to join and connect on the Thoushands community app.
  • On the home screen, click the GET STARTED – INVITE FRIENDS tab to invite friends. You can choose to send invites via email or text message.
  • When your friends join the platform, select the FRIENDS icon to invite friends to be connected as friends. Please note that inviting friends is not a requirement for creating a project. You can create a project before inviting friends.
  • When creating a TASK, click the icon beside the INVITE FRIENDS icon to go to the task page. Use the PLUS icon at the top right of your screen to add a task.
  • To add a PROJECT, click on the HAMMER OR TOOL icon beside the INVITE FRIENDS tab to go to the project page. Use the PLUS icon at the top right of your screen to add a project.
  • You can choose task members from your friend’s list. For both task and project, you can add comments. For projects, you can add a project image, and upload project photos if necessary.
  • Once a project is completed, the organizer of a project can close the project. They can choose who took part in a project, add a closing comment, and click SUBMIT to close. Everyone who participated will get a “Star” for doing good things. The purpose of the star is to build trust amongst members and they can get more help from the community.
  • Please note that there is a DONATION feature for projects. A project organizer can select a charity organization to donate money to upon project completion. Unfortunately, Apple does not allow Thoushands to mention or accept donations in the iOS App unless the company is changed to a non-profit organization. Hence, the donation feature is not available on the iOS App. The donation feature is only on the web’s UI.
  • The CALENDAR feature displayed on the homepage of your dashboard shows you your scheduled events.
  • FEATURED PROJECTS are always displayed on the homepage of your dashboard.
  • Click the NOTIFICATION BELL at the bottom right of your screen to get updates on your activities.
  • On the existing projects page, scroll down to the COMMENTS section to add a comment.
