Ultimate Educational Apps For Students

Introduction

Apps help organize your time, learn foreign languages, remember dates, and more. We have selected some of the most useful applications for students – both educational and task scheduling.

Languages – Duolingo

To date, the program for learning various foreign languages, Duolingo, is one of the most famous and beloved by users. Duolingo has over one hundred million downloads in the Google online store alone.

In Duolingo, lessons are divided into specific groups by level of difficulty and topic, and “diamonds” are given out as a reward system – they are spent when mistakes are made in the exercises. The learning system is implemented through the repetition of various words and expressions, and sometimes you need to write a comment, and sometimes you need to pronounce it. To make learning more fun, a funny green bird accompanies the student. The passage of one lesson takes no more than 5-10 minutes.

Minus: in the free version, learning could be more convenient. Also, as with any program, it isn’t easy to practice speaking in Duolingo.

Writing – EssayShark

It’s nice to get help with essay writing from time to time. All students get writing assignments sometimes, which gets challenging. Perhaps there is no point in struggling with your paper if you can find a professional writer to help you. In such situations, a popular app for essay writing called EssayShark will help you.

Educational Apps inner

This app is the best helper for those who have writing problems. The team contains only qualified experts who have degrees and pass evaluation tests to prove they have the required knowledge. The main advantages of this app are the availability to choose any writer you want, affordable prices, and quick assistance.

Minus: you can’t submit essays written by their writers as your papers.

Mathematics – PhotoMath

Perhaps the most popular math application for amateurs today. PhotoMath is perfect for first-year students of technical and scientific specialities when there are many examples to solve. The app explains the solution algorithm step-by-step, allowing students to learn how to solve different standards on their own.

Minus: step-by-step explanations of the solution are available in the paid version.

Scheduler – Any. do

Precise business planning is essential to success in school or university. Any.do is an organizer that is very simple and easy to use. Sort all things by their importance with the help of coloured “stickers.” It is possible to create personal lists – for example, a list of necessary purchases. Notifications about upcoming deadlines are sent to WhatsApp.

Minus: You will need the patience to get the hang of the app and use it to its full potential.

Lectures on Everything – TED

You can find here lectures, exciting life stories, and engaging speeches. All speakers from the TED Foundation, experts in different fields, combine the quality of lessons and talent for storytelling. The duration of lectures rarely exceeds half an hour – that’s why you can listen to them even at lunchtime.

TED materials are available on the website and on YouTube, as well as in a mobile application, where they are available for free download. Some lectures are subtitled. It is convenient if you need to remember your headphones and turn on the recording in a public place.

Minus: Most TED experts speak English.

Review subjects – Khan Academy

A great educational application is Khan Academy. A Harvard graduate Salman Khan created it. Initially, it was a site where lectures of various scientists were published in English. In the mobile application, you can find videos that explain in an accessible form the material on school subjects – chemistry, mathematics, history, and others. In total, Khan Academy has collected more than 4200 materials.

Educational app inner 1

The app has “video lessons” for various subjects taught at school. The difference from the previous app is that all lectures focus on something other than the teacher’s personality. The video explains different scientific questions, and the viewer sees in front of them not a lecturer but an electronic board with drawings. You will see that the materials have multiple levels of complexity; they will be understandable to both preschoolers and secondary school students and are curious for adults. Reviewing school material concisely and excitingly is a great way to understand complex topics even before you start preparing for the entrance exams to a university.

Minus: most lectures are presented only in the English language, but the creators of the application are working on a translation into other languages.

Take an online course – Coursera

This app is an educational app developed by computer science professors at Stanford. This project collaborates with universities that publish and host courses in various fields in the application system. Education is based on the classical system: you need to take exams; you can communicate with classmates. In 2017, Coursera registered more than 4,300 courses in 430 specialities from 150 universities worldwide.

Coursera offers additional studying of physics, medicine, arts, biology, economics, computer science, business, and other disciplines. The duration of each course is nearly six to ten weeks.

Minus: learning will require self-discipline from you.

Communication – Slack

The application is a convenient service for communicating with classmates, a messenger where you can exchange opinions, get help with assignments, and send documents. You can share via a message, voice, and video calls. In addition, the application has some features that will make the work comfortable for everyone. You can set up special keyboard shortcuts for quick navigation.

Minus: the app has unnecessary notifications that can distract you from your studies.

Planning – My Study Life

This application has already earned the love of students from different countries. Created specifically for students, it allows you to fix tasks for each subject, build a class schedule, and track the dates and places of exams and the degree of completion of a particular job.

The minimalistic design and soothing colors do not distract from the application’s primary function.

Minus: it takes a little time to get used to the scheduling system and enjoy the colorful slots on the calendar.

Use these apps, and you will succeed in your education!
