Interview with Ahmad Eshghinejad – Founder of Linkwork [2023]

Q1) Hello Ahmad, we are glad to have you with us. Could you please introduce yourself to our readers?

Hi, I am Ahmad, CEO and founder of Linkwork.

Q2) You started your career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Toledo, then moved on to Technology Licencing Fellow at the University of Washington- CoMotion, and then Senior Systems Engineer at Veeco. Now you are the CEO of Linkwork. How did the idea to create Linkwork strike you? How was your journey from an engineer to an entrepreneur?

The idea of Linkwork struk to me as I was observing the effectiveness of collaborative work in different forms and realizing the lack of a real tool for collaborative web-browsing which is the heart of all online works.

In my engineering work, I have always been looking for innovative solutions to the problems. So I see entrepreneurship as the extension of my engineering innovations to solve an important problem in the world for a better future.

Q3) Linkwork is a Google Chrome extension for browsing. How does the extension work for numerous browsing experiences?

The idea behind Linkwork is simple but effective in improving web browsing experience. Links are the essential parts of web browsing and we all send and receive many links everyday in emails or chats. Linkwork provides an easy-to-use tool for sharing links live between users who are in the same “room” and browsing the web around a topic-of-interest.

Q4) Linkwork manages the lives of people professionally and personally. How does the balance is struck, and in what way Linkwork creates a bridge for a personalized experience?

Yes, Linkwork can be used both for professional and personal web-browsing activities between a group of co-workers or friends. This will transform the way people look into web-browsing.

Linkworks can also be a personal tool for documenting web-pages using the “reporting” and commenting features. One can browse the web, like pages, comment on them and then use the report to go back to the history of their web browsing.

Q5) Linkwork has a “room” feature. In what way does this work? Is it similar to Zoom or Google Meet?

Yes Linkwork “room” is similar to what is in Zoom and Google Meet which is a place in the app where a group of users join to exchange information. In Linkwork the group of users joining a “room” share and preview web-browsing information and can chat with others in the room.

Q6) As the CEO of Linkwork, I guess you have a strenuous routine. How do you balance your work-life and family?

In Linkwork we work hard to bring the best experience to our users. However we take the work-life balance seriously as, we believe, it eventually leads to the most sustainable performance in the long-term.

Q7) What challenges did you face from users after launching Linkwork? How did you solve it?

We have had many challenges from the first date in Linkwork. The main challenge that we tried to address from day one has been to design a system to be the most effective and intuitive for the problem we are trying to solve. This becomes extremely important for collaborative tools.

We also continuously observe and address technical and design challenges and greatly appreciate the users who give us feedback on improving Linkwork.

Q8) Do you have other technologies, tools, and business skills in your wishlist that you intend to apply to your Google Chrome extension field?

Yes, we are planning to add many features to add to Linkwork for a better experience. We have recently added the “Reporting” feature to email out the report of the room chats and liked pages. We are planning to add more features for professionals to more effectively use the tool.

Q9) As an engineer, what advice do you have for future aspirants looking for prospects to make their startup uplift technology to ease people’s lives both professionally and personally?

My suggestion is to always think of problems and then engineer the simplest, most effective solution. And then ask yourself if this is something that you would use to ease your life first. If the answer is yes, then believe in your solution and work hard to make it into reality.

Q10) Where do you see Linkwork in five years?

I see Linkwork to be the reference and must-have tool in all web browsers. We also plan to extend this unique experience as a stand-alone application for smartphone users (for specific personal and professional collaborative works).
