Interview with Muhammad Taha, the CEO of Trip Time [2023]

Thanks for having me and I am doing great! I am an experienced software engineer and also the creator and CEO of the Trip Time app. I also happen to be someone who loves to travel and take every opportunity to explore new places!

The idea for this app cumulated after my own experiences with traveling. While I do enjoy and love to go on trips, planning for one isn’t the most pleasurable experience. It used to be a struggle of using notes, spreadsheets and many other software to figure out where to go, create my itinerary, list out what I need to pack etc. I wanted to have an app which could act as a one-stop shop for all things relating to travel planning and management. So I started by noting down all the pain points I used to have, and how all of that can be incorporated under a single application.

There are a lot of features Trip Time offers to make it easy for you and your friends to plan for trips. You can jot down all the reservations you have pertaining to your trip, you can make an itinerary of every single day of your trip on where you want to go and what you want to do, you can list down what you need to pack and additionally you can record all expenses for the trip! All of these things can be done with family and friends, so you have the ability to invite anyone to your trip and collaborate with all the features together!

We are hard at work on getting an iOS version of the app out real soon! Stay tuned!

By following one of the oldest tricks in the book; a schedule. Having a routine in your life is really important to effectively manage work with personal things. 

We have plans for many new and exciting features, around the theme of managing trips!  

Trust and openness are the important factors here. I trust the people I work with, to be the best at what they are, and to be open and reach out when needed.  

Plan on what you want to build, how it will work or look like, and then go for it!

There were many technical challenges we ran into while working on this app. User feedback was critical, especially in the initial releases, where we received a lot of useful feedback to improve our app and also fix various bugs. We took immediate actions to address those queries and newer versions of the app hopefully addressed the concerns.

Used by everyone to plan their trips, be it a weekend getaway or an international tour!
