Interview with Mylène Besançon, the CEO of Bring My Song To Life [2023]

Hi! I’m currently the C.E.O of Bring My Song To Life. At Bring My Song To Life, we create the finest personalized music as a gift for any special event you have. It can be an anniversary or a birthday gift for your loved one. After receiving tons of requests to produce musical gifts for people through our primary website, Tunedly, the co-founder and I came up with Bring My Song To Life. 

At the time, I had recently completed my Bachelor’s Degree from Université Sud Toulon-Var and my MBA from Dublin Business School. At Tunedly we work with top industry moguls with huge global success and a roster of Grammy-award-winning musicians who contributed to some of Katy Perry and Jay-Z’s biggest hits and the like. Part of our advisory board also includes Harvey Mason Jr and Mathew Knowles. 

Our team was selected by three business accelerators from New York, Missouri, and California, in the United States. They have been a great strategic support in the early stages of the business with lots of training, investment, and mentoring. 

My husband and I own beautiful lakefront property in Canada where we raise our Domestic cat and Samoyed puppy.

My husband, Chris Erhardt, has been a great motivator in my entrepreneurial journey. I always had a knack for finding solutions to problems. While I was trying to come up with solutions to problems artists were facing at the time, Chris was also facing some challenges. We teamed up and came up with a way to help songwriters and artists with deprived opportunities. 

Tunedly came to be and we have since worked with top industry artists and songwriters some of whom are part of our advisory board. Many artists can now record remotely from the comfort of their homes in collaboration with our sound engineers and session musicians. Production is, therefore, faster and we have recorded more than 32,000 tracks since inception.

My husband is the CEO and I’m the CMO overseeing the marketing aspect of Tunedly. Fans now have the opportunity of screening an artist’s song and voting for it. It is a great opportunity for finding publishing deals that will help artists launch their careers.

First, the client needs to provide certain details for the song to be written and produced. Such include what the occasion is for, who the song is for, and if they want special memories incorporated into the song. Thereafter, our songwriters compose the song and then we send them the first draft via email. They can give a stamp of approval, edit or make suggestions on receipt of the email. 

After ensuring that your story is right, our musicians compose the music for you. You can always choose your preferred genre or let Bring My Song To Life choose one for you. Balancing the “work-personal life” state in my day-to-day life has never been easier. I love to work remotely and therefore I don’t have to move around much for work at the moment. My typical days include checking my emails, answering interview questions like this one, and ensuring everything is running smoothly. 

I love to travel so I spend some time planning with my family where our next trips will be. I especially love to travel between Canada, France, and the USA. Otherwise, I also frolicked in the dunes of Maspalomas and visited Tiede in the Canary Islands in Spain, enjoyed a bouncy jeep ride in Brazil where I attended a beautiful wedding. 

I also watch over my health through daily routines such as exercising and eating a healthy diet as often as I can. I also love to spend time with my husband, and our cat and dog, which makes me feel complete.

The healing power of music is great. Being the CEO of a service around music is the main aspect I most admire. It makes your mood calmer, smile wider, and your day brighter. With good music, you have the power to kickstart your day positively making any dull moments better. At Bring My Song To Life, we like to boost our customers’ moods, and indirectly our team’s too, with the finest personalized music as a gift. Perhaps it sounds a bit corny. We love to keep our team diverse among the co-founders, advisors, and musicians. This strategy brings in greater perspectives and experiences which is good for cohesiveness.

Reliving your past experiences helps to keep your memory fresh and strong. Long-term memories are held for many years like your first boyfriend or girlfriend’s name. Other memories could be where you hide your cryptocurrency keys or how to ride a bike. Your memory is more like a muscle, the more you remember the more likely you are to retain it. For instance, I don’t like conflict. Therefore, I keep in mind my previous experiences and talk about them with the people I surround myself with. This helps me to spot situations in advance that can lead me to undesirable outcomes and instead forge towards a more peaceful and promising direction.
